Environmental Stewardship Took Center Stage at the Annual Portico Advance

Portico staff members, Leigh Tucker and Lucian Connole help remove invasive plants as part of this year's Advance.
Portico staff recently spent the workday learning together, interacting outside the office as a larger team, and socializing at Warren G. Magnuson Park for their annual Advance. After a few welcoming words from President Mike Hamm, representatives from Brightworks spoke about biomimicry, “a new discipline that studies nature’s best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems.” Then, fueled by lunch, staff participated in an EarthCorps work party, prepping a site at the park for fall planting by removing invasive plants, mulching, and doing site maintenance.
