MIG “Game Changer” To Present at ASLA Conference

MIG Principal and Director of our Native Nation Building Studio José de Jesus Leal was named a Game Changer by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Game Changers have innovative ideas that will dramatically change how the field approaches climate action. He’ll be presenting his game changing ideas during the 2023 national ASLA “Scale Up” Conference in Minneapolis. 

Leal’s talk, “Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge and our Obligations to Truth and Healing,” will focus on the foundational systems and traditional cultural activities of Indigenous People—and how we can actively work with them to restore their ancestral territories, facilitate access to and protection of cultural places and spaces, and ultimately help return control of these lands to them.
