Seattle-based Nakano Joins MIG

MIG is excited to announce that renowned Seattle landscape architecture firm Nakano Associates has joined the MIG team.

“MIG has worked with Nakano for many years,” says Daniel Iacofano, MIG’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Their tag line says it all: ‘Design for Healthy Communities.’ That focus is a perfect match for MIG’s range of disciplines and services in support of human development. Their values, approach and attention to detail all align perfectly with how we connect with clients and communities.”

Founded in 1989, Nakano’s extensive, award-winning expertise spans planning and design for recreation, education, housing, transportation, infrastructure and cultural projects. MIG is known for inclusive and participatory planning, design, community engagement, and communications services that bring diverse communities and perspectives together.

“We are passionate about design for sustainable, culturally vibrant open spaces that benefit the greater community,” says Nakano Principal Ida Ottesen. “With MIG, we will be able to offer our clients increased capacity and a wider range of services. It's a win-win for both our companies and, even more so, for our clients.”

“Nakano's deep experience and portfolio in the greater Puget Sound region strengthens our presence in the marketplace and provides MIG with greater depth in servicing both our existing and new clients,” says Christopher Beynon, MIG’s Chief Development Officer.

Nakano staff will be fully integrated with MIG’s downtown Seattle office, forming one seamless team of design, engineering and planning professionals.
