San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum

San Francisco Botanical Garden

Portico prepared the master plan refinement and interpretive plan for this extraordinary 55-acre public garden. Due to San Francisco?s mild Mediterranean climate and horticultural microclimates, many rare and unusual plants thrive in the gardens from places as remote as a Mexican cloud forest and the Cape of South Africa. The new master plan refined the pathway system and prepared a trail hierarchy, conceptually designed new demonstration gardens, defined gateways and garden displays, and coordinated site design for a new nursery and maintenance complex.
