Sophia Federighi to Star in Pirates of Penzance

Portico receptionist, Sophia Federighi, will be performing in Pirates of Penzance opening on October 21st, running until November 19th at Freehold Theatre in Seattle, with performances every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Although it is a family-appropriate show, the recommended age minimum is eight. Here’s a description of Pirates of Penzance from the STAGEright Theatre website: STAGEright Theatre presents a show you thought you’d already seen: The Pirates of Penzance. This Gilbert and Sullivan classic is one of the most influential and well known light operettas of all time, and though more than 130 years old, it is still as charming and relevant as ever. Traditionally performed with dozens of singers, Director Brendan Mack’s staging features a cast of eleven playing every role in the show. This gender-bending production draws influence from Lady Gaga, “Glee,” Elvis Presley, Carol Burnett, “Grease,” Sesame Street, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and many other cultural icons. This is a rendition of Pirates not to be missed!
